The pineapple is rich in the emzyme called bromelain. It soothes throat and helps to digest protein in food for easy absorption. It can tenderrises meat too. The pineapple makes an excellent ingredient for sweet and sour fish and meat dishes. Bromelain speeds up wound healing and reduces inflamation. The pineapple is high in aspartic acid that makes a good choice for those suffer from gout.Pineapple contain dietary fibre which helps to lower blood pressure, reduce heart attack and diabetes. Pineapples contain fibre and minerals and is suitable for juice making and is rich in Vitamin C

For safety concern to some people, eating too much fresh pineapple may cause headache. Pineapple may cause heavy flow to some women. Thus, pregnant women are traditionally advised against eating it to avoid miscarriges. Wear gloves to protect your hands when cutting pineapples cause the enzyme, bromalain may damage your skin.

When choosing a pineapple, look for a heavy fruit to show that it is juicy.Ripe pineapple has a strong, sweet and pleasant fragrant.An unripe pineapple is very sour.
